until today, wetsuits are mainly made of neoprene, a material that cannot be recycled. neither the disposal of neoprene (chloroprene) in landfills nor the incineration is acceptable. we have developed a way to de-vulcanise used neoprene and turn it into a new, homogeneous material to make, for example, durable and recyclable shoe soles.
we had a party with STOP! Micro Waste and blue magazine.
blue celebrated the release of their yearbook #19 and we gave a neoprene upcycling workshop. together, we made laptop bags, wallets, and other new things.
and since commercial surf wax is made of toxic and polluting ingredients, we showed you how to make your own organic surf wax.
geordie little came over and played for us.
