It has now been several years since an environmental activist told us about a study that had just been published: this research demonstrated that, with every wash, tiny plastic fibres are released from clothing into the wastewater, thereby polluting rivers and seas on an unimaginable scale.

Although we produce our clothing without plastic, we also stock jackets, jumpers and trousers in our shops and those of our partners which – in order to withstand wind and weather – are made almost entirely, of high-tech plastic fibres.

To raise awareness amongst as many people as possible about the pollution of our natural environment caused by (micro)plastics, we founded the GUPPYFRIEND brand: solutions that stop microplastics, make them visible and help to change routines – in households, in businesses and in local communities.
